The worst of the “daikaiju” storm Sandy bypassed the Hudson Valley environs of The Black House, leaving it unharmed. Power remained constant and rain was relatively light while the winds howled and snatched some tree branches to propitiate their ravening. The high ground protected the 135 year old grande dame from flood waters.
