Church of Satan exhibit looks at demons, Dracula…

Pictured above: Andy Howl’s “The Thinker.” This pen-and-ink drawing combines elements of Rodin’s “The Thinker,” Chernabog from the “Night on Bald Mountain” segment of “Fantasia” and the skull logo for the metal band Danzig.

Our Reverend Thomas Thorn, whose multi-media “Baphomet” sculpture is included, said:

“In today’s political climate, it’s bound to be controversial. But I think that pushing the boundaries of the status quo — reminding people that our Constitution clearly states that every American is free to believe (or not believe) as they choose — is incredibly important right now. I believe that this show is doing exactly that.”

Pictured above: Thomas Thorn’s “Baphomet” uses electrical wiring, a store mannequin and a real goat skull. “I’ve created a modern version that emphasizes the idea of magical energy being electrical in nature,” he says. His band, The Electric Hellfire Club is well known for combining music with powerful diabolical graphics.
