RABID CROW presents Blake’s SATAN & EVE

As reflected in Anton LaVey’s discussion of the Nine Satanic Sins,
Satanists tend to have a mindfulness of the past and a strong
appreciation for aesthetics. These values are central to the work of
Rabid Crow Arts & Graphics. Rabid Crow works often present art
resurrecting or re-imagining historic illustrations and addressing
themes and topics which appeal to those with a dark aesthetic. Many
include classic depictions of Satan as a symbol for strength,
sensuality, indulgence or liberation. These works are not intended
for the masses but for those elite few who see something of themselves
in the imagery presented.

One example of Rabid Crow’s work is its digital resurrection of
William Blake’s 18th century pen and watercolor depiction of “Satan
Exulting Over Eve.”
The original was created more than 200 years ago. Rabid Crow digitally reworked Blake’s creation, painstakingly removing
and replacing the background to refocus the observer’s gaze on the
central figures and then digitally correcting errors inherent in the
medium and tools used by Blake so long ago. The result is a
derivative work, honoring the original, yet recasting it in a wholly
updated perspective.

The work depicts Eve, having tasted the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge
reclining in ecstacy (or is she unconscious?) entwined with the
Serpent while Lucifer floats above in triumph. Yet his expression is
neutral. He has not conquered. He knows that it is humanity’s natural
desire for knowledge and freedom which is triumphant.

It is available on stretched canvas, as a poster or on t-shirts and other items.
