The Black Flame article - Has Satanism Changed for You Too? by Reverend Campbell

Has Satanism Changed for You Too?

an article & video for The Black Flame—April, LII A.S. When I first heard about The Satanic Bible, I was in 7th grade. It was a frightening and exciting thought, that there would be a bible devoted to Satan’s religion. (I came from a LDS religious background.) My friend, whose brother supposedly had the book, refused to even bring it to school, which only added to the mystery. My first exposure to the religion of Satanism was The Devil’s Notebook, a collection of essays addressing ideas that were new, interesting and thrilling for me to consume and contemplate. This infused […]

In Memoriam: Hugh Hefner (1926-2017) He said it best, “The major civilizing force in the world is not religion, it is sex.” And for 91 years no one lived that philosophy better than Playboy magazine founder, exemplary rake, epicurean and de facto Satanist Hugh Marston Hefner who passed away on September 27 at the iconic Playboy Mansion.A free speech warrior and steadfast champion of personal liberty, Hefner built the company into one of the most recognizable American global brands in history encompassing publications, clubs, casinos, film studios, merchandise licensing and the Playboy Foundation that fights censorship and funds human sexuality […]

In Memoriam: George A. Romero (1940-2017) Film icon George A. Romero has passed away at the age of 77. His extensive and varied filmography is one of daring and uniqueness and will continue to be studied, enjoyed and admired. Romero shocked audiences in 1968 with his jarringly bleak zombie offering NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. The film’s haunting chiaroscuro, over-the-top violence and surprisingly grim conclusion shocked viewers used to rubber monsters and happy endings. With this film he changed the entire mythology of zombies, turning them from docile, voodoo-created undead into the ravenous, rotting flesh-eaters that have become the expected […]

John Milton’s “Paradise Lost” has been announced with Martin Freeman (“The Hobbit” and BBC’s “Sherlock”) producing. Paradise Lost is the 1667 poem which describes the fall of Satan and his seduction of Eve to eat of the Fruit of Knowledge. Attempts have been made in the past to make a live movie with Australian Director Alex Proyas (“The Crow” and “I Robot”), however production stopped due to budget restrictions. Now English company, Dancing Ledge Productions and Martin Freeman are bringing the classic to life via a TV series. Dancing Ledge CEO Laurence Bowen noted that “Paradise Lost is like a […]

Speak of the Devil – Reverend Campbell Interviews Magister Robert Lang I have, on occasion, had the privilege of collaborating with like-minded Satanists, and through the course of those interactions I have learned that those of substance do not typically have the time to commit to an active online life. They are either too busy actually living their lives, or their contempt for the denizens of those virtual prisons holds no interest for them. One cannot hope to achieve his goals, or to manifest his desires if compulsively congratulating other social media thralls, after all. The Church of Satan is […]

Misunderstood, Misrepresented & Malpracticed – A Satanic Warlock on Satanic Magic

an article & video for The Black Flame—December, LI A.S. Magic is the bloodstream of the universe. Forget all you know, or think you know. All that you require is your intuition. – High Aldwin; Willow, 1988 I found myself paralyzed. I was physically and emotionally paralyzed with marvel as I watched the M1A1 Abrams tank fire it’s first round downrange and the atmosphere itself react. I could see the soundwaves of the burst as it rippled out from the cannon, spreading in all directions through space-time. Passing by and crashing against everything around it. Moving everything lacking the strength […]

Satan Loves Queers

by Witch Josie Gallows an article for The Black Flame—November, LI A.S. Many a street preacher has screamed “God Hates Fags” to pedestrians. Homosexuals and gender outlaws have been the scapegoats of religionists both moderate and extreme, and for thousands of years. As always men make God in their own image, rather than the reverse. It turns out he’s viciously petty and has a stake in the private ongoings of everyone, both great and inconsequential. I think it’s time for the symbolic response that “Satan Loves Queers.” It’s appropriately antagonistic, since many deviants have been compelled to argue within the […]

“You Are Not The Sum of Those That Follow You” or “Social Media is Not Satanic”

an article & video for The Black Flame—August, LI A.S.  In the early and mid 1960’s, Elvis Presley was surrounded by his most trusted & loved friends, family and fans. Hype men and women had led him to believe that he was the most popular star in the world. It wasn’t until Elvis began filming his ‘68 Comeback Special that he was served the cold hard truth. He had fallen into obscurity and no one really cared about his music. He walked down the street with nary a second glance from the other street dwellers. He had inadvertently surrounded himself […]
