THE SITHFITS ANNOUNCE DEBUT RELEASE WITH “TATOOINE E.P.”
JIMMY PSYCHO is excited to announce the release of “TATOOINE E.P.”, the debut release from “Star Wars meets Classic Punk” Cosplay band THE SITHFITS.
TATOOINE E.P. includes seven tracks that combine classic punk rock songs with Star Wars-inspired parody lyrics resulting in a powerful, yet humorous musical experience.
Jimmy Psycho comments, ”1977 was an amazing year…punk rock was born, “Star Wars” was released upon the planet, and “Weird Al” Yankovic recorded his first song in the bathroom of his college radio station…if these three events were to spawn an offspring, it could easily be THE SITHFITS!!! “
The Sithfits are the brain child of Tim Mancinas, founder of Sithfits clothing, and Jimmy Psycho, the main mind behind the horror rock band PSYCHO CHARGER and the “spooky sci-fi lounge band” THE JIMMY PSYCHO EXPERIMENT. Tim, who was looking for a way to promote his clothing, had a chance meeting with Jimmy at Courtney Cruz’s Devil’s Playground show and the initial seeds of THE SITHFITS were planted. Not only limited to their fun-filled sonic attack, THE SITHFITS dress the part, visually representing a punk rock vision from the Dark Side of The Force!!!
The band stormed the stage at Courtney’s Devil’s Playground “Star Girls” Burlesque show in Hollywood in August of 2015 and THE SITHFITS machine has only picked up speed since then, making stops at the Official SoCal Star Wars May 4 Event, The Star Wars Celebration After Party at House of Blues, and Stan Lee’s Comikaze, which help boost the band into becoming one of the most sought-after Cosplay music acts in the country.
With the cancellation of a very busy live performance schedule of other music projects due to the Covid-19 crisis of the country, Jimmy and Tim decided to use the forced downtime to finally getting THE SITHFITS recording project completed. Jimmy recruited his long-time music collaborator Jeano Roid from Nashville-based band THE CREEPING CRUDS to play guitar on the songs as well as perform the final mixing of the completed project. Tim Mancinas provided the Misfits’ “Static Age”-inspired artwork to round out the project.
TATOOINE E.P. is released today, May 4th, and will be available from Rot N Roll Army Records. Due to the delays in shipping from the manufacturer from the Covid-19 pandemic, the record label is extending the special-priced pre-sale of release until the physical copies arrive.
THE SITHFITS are currently “on hold” given the conditions of the Covid-19 crisis of the country, but are still booking clubs and special events.
