Church of Satan Sigil of Baphomet

Underworld Amusements announces the release of two new titles.

The Philosophical Writings of Edgar Saltus, 366 pages, $18.95
The King In Yellow by Robert W. Chambers, 209 pages, $12.95

In The Philosophical Writings of Egar Saltus we have collected two books into one with a new foreword by Chip Smith (Nine-Banded Books/The Hoover Hog). After Chip’s introductory remarks, we delve into a history of Philosophical Pessimism, from the Greeks to Schopenhaur in a work titled “The Philosophy of Disenchantment”. This is followed by The Anatomy of Negation, another histrical overview, this time of godlessness prior to the Soviet co-option and transformation into state religion, and well before the feel-good thought police of many of today’s atheist movements. It is available from Amazon.com and direct from Underworld Amusements.

“I wrote The Philosophy of Disenchantment, which is, I think, the gloomiest and worst book ever published. Out of sheer laziness, I then produced a history of atheism, The Anatomy of Negation, which has been honored by international dislike.” -Edgar Saltus

At the same time we have released a new edition of Robert W. Chambers The King In Yellow. In 2011 we announced a very limited release of the book with artwork by G. Edwin Taylor. Due to recent customer demand relating to the books central role in the new series True Detective, we have produced this unlimited edition. Featuring a new cover design and available exclusively from Underworld Amusements.
