Newly added to our downloads page is an annotated reading list concerning the years of The Satanic Panic by Autumn Sword, The Satanic Skeptic. Many of us lived through this harrowing time of urban legends which lead to Christian evangelists having captured time on many talk shows, with their sensationalist and nonsensical claims that there existed a conspiracy of “satanists” out to get your pets, your kids, and to dominate the world while making sloppy graffiti in various public spaces as well as desecrating graveyards in a willy nilly manner. Rampant false claims of ritual child abuse and sacrifice spread […]

The Rise of “The Satanic Unease” Devil worship has long been used by writers of fiction and makers of moving images as a choice from moldy rosters of “quick and easy villainy and excitement.” A silent 1928 porn short made in France titled Messe Noir depicts a female neophyte’s ritual initiation into a “Satanic Cult” with explicit scenes of ritual sex meant to stimulate viewers with something forbidden. That began the cavalcade of Devil cults appearing in films and TV shows, a phenomenon that seems to come in waves, often when there are societal tensions and widespread xenophobia. Pervasive fears […]
HERE WE GO AGAIN? “Satanic” Graffiti in Amityville This morning I awoke to news stories proclaiming that three churches located in North Amityville in Suffolk County on Long Island were vandalized with SATANIC GRAFFITI. Apparently, some time Saturday night, a vandal scrawled on the external walls of the Amityville Full Gospel Tabernacle, the Shaw Temple AME Zion Church, and the Zion Gospel Church, all close to one another. Oddly, none of the major news reports, which include ABC’s Eyewitness News account, show any of the graffiti. However, it was explained in other reports that the offending graffiti was painted over […]
TERROR TRANSMISSION EP121: The City of the DeadThe basis of this scary tale is in reality. And the reality is that, once you check into the horror hotel, you’ll be locked in your room with two cloaked gents chanting some ungodly commentary on the 1960 release of The City of the Dead. So, before you’re sacrificed on the altar, you’ll have some time to consort with film facts, Danzig’s child-frightening forehead, metal band names in this film, “Dick"s, city vs. town, TV-watching as social curiosity, girls who wear your clothes after sex, Matt’s welding woes, Jason’s parrot traumas, the British […]
Church of Satan helps debunk Devil Worship claims. A census for the small town of Bolster in Derbyshire, England, had 17 pranksters write on their forms that they worshipped the “anti-christ.” This is typically a comical way to rile the local faithful folks since being a secularist or atheist tends not to be that shocking, these days. While we’ve had many members throughout the UK for quite a number of years, they are productive, law-abiding citizens who are generally liked and even admired by their friends, family and associates. They typically keep their affiliation secret because of public misperceptions, but […]
If you click on the above image you may read a fine article by Abby Ohlheiser published today by The Washington Post regarding a statement Magus Gilmore made yesterday on our news feed. In his response to Ms. Ohlheiser’s questions, Magus Gilmore pointed out that he holds the media accountable for misrepresenting devil worshippers as Satanists, which leads to their audience being misinformed, and that journalists should take care to make such issues clear to their readers because of the consequences that can result from such misunderstandings. We thank Ms. Ohlheiser for presenting our position on this and other issues, but […]
